March 2006 - The construction of Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center and Shanghai Special Olympics Training Center was launched.

July 2007 - Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice President of the PRC (former Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee ) and Hui Liangyu, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council unveiled Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center and Shanghai Special Olympics Training Center.

October 2007 - Special Olympics World Summer Games was held in Shanghai.

June 2008 - Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center was designated by the leading group of rehabilitation work in Shanghai for the injured patients of Sichuan Wenchuan earthquake as the rehabilitation institution, and received 22 wounded from 11 referral hospitals batch by batch. 

November 2009 - Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center was pointed as the venue for 2009 Special Olympics Shanghai Sunshine Inter-City Invitational Unified Race.

August 2010 - Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center was formally incorporated in Shanghai Medical Insurance designated institution.

November 2010 - Zhang Haidi, the Chairman of China Disabled Persons' Federation and Ye Xinghua, former Secretary of Shanghai Disabled Persons' Federation unveiled Halfway Home Resource Center for Spinal Cord Injured Patients in the meeting of  Halfway Home Pilot Work - Inaugural Ceremony of National Spinal Cord Injured Members.

February 2011 - Yu Zhengsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, the Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee (former Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee), Han Zheng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee (former Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shanghai), and Yang Xiong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Mayor of Shanghai, and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Shanghai Municipality inspected Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center.

March 2011 - Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center became one of the work injury insurance rehabilitation designated institutions. 

September 2012 - The First Shanghai Youth Rehabilitation Therapists Skills Contest "Sunshine Cup" was successfully held by Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center.

October 2012 - The Physical Examination Center of Yangzhi Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital was officially inaugurated.

March 2013 - Yangzhi Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital became Yangzhi Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital of Tongji University (Preparatory), and joint the building of Rehabilitation Medicine Department of Tongji University School of Medicine.

July 2013 - Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center passed the evaluation of provincial /municipal Grade 3 rehabilitation centers for the disabled.

October 2013 - Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center was renamed "Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital (Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center)".
